About Me

Hi, this is ZHANG.z. I’m a developer, AI builder, and investor writing about where engineering meets economics. This blog documents my learning journey, paper, and building in public—you can tell how much I love technical deep-dives from the math formulas scattered everywhere 😉.

As a technological accelerationist, I am deeply committed to the philosophy that “technology transforms society” and actively translate this belief into practice through my work.

I welcome discussions on investment and research-related topics:

Education & Background

I currently work in a large technology company in a technical role, with a focus on AI and related systems. I also invest with my own capital as an independent investor, with a bias toward long-horizon value and quantitative discipline; returns from investing have, over time, exceeded my wage income, though I do not treat this as a guarantee for the future.

Focus & Scope

My activities center on three areas: (1) linking strong undergraduates—especially at leading universities—with seed-stage venture and research opportunities; (2) technical work in AI and adjacent fields within industry; and (3) independent investing, including a quantitative approach, with emphasis on macro structure, liquidity cycles, asset pricing, and systemic risk. I do not overstate my role: I am one participant among many, and I learn as much as I share.

Frequently Asked Questions

About This Site

What does this blog cover?

The site is organized around what I actually write: AI and technology (including paper notes and learning series), industry and policy commentary, and investment and macro themes. Content reflects my reading, work, and research—no institutional endorsement is implied.

How often do you publish?

I aim for a steady pace rather than a fixed count; updates tend to cluster when I finish a reading project or have a clear view to share. You can subscribe via RSS (link at the bottom of the page) or follow the site for notifications.

How is the content produced?

Articles are drafted with the help of an AI assistant and then revised and fact-checked by me. I take responsibility for the final text and try to keep analysis grounded and sources traceable where it matters.

May I cite or share your work?

Yes. Please attribute clearly and leave the original wording intact when quoting.

About Education & Career Path

Why did you go back to school in 2021 after graduating in 2013?

Learning is something you do at any time—not only when you are young or “on track.” I found an area I was genuinely interested in (management and economics), so I went to study and earned a master’s degree. If you find something you care about, I encourage you to pursue it. There is no single right timeline; there is only whether you act on what you want to learn.

Why Connect with University Students?

Why do you focus on linking undergraduates, especially at top universities?

I believe some of the most capable young people are concentrated at leading universities—not exclusively, but in high density. They often lack structured access to seed capital, industry mentorship, and research-style thinking early on. I have benefited from similar bridges in the past. My goal is modest: to use my experience in engineering, AI, and investing to help such students move a bit faster—whether toward a first company, a deeper research direction, or a clearer view of how technology and markets interact. I do not claim to be uniquely qualified; I only try to be useful where I can.

Investment & Collaboration

What are your investment interests?

I am interested in seed-stage opportunities that sit at the intersection of technology (especially AI) and real usage, and in teams that think clearly about long-term value. I also allocate capital as an independent/quantitative investor, with a focus on macro and structural factors rather than short-term speculation.

How can I reach you for investment or collaboration?

For investment-related or research-related inquiries, please write to echo68697@hotmail.com with a concise subject line (e.g. [Question Title] - From blog). I read all messages but cannot respond to every one.

Do you consider project or startup referrals?

Yes. I am open to reviewing serious early-stage projects, particularly in AI applications and technology-driven innovation, and to connecting strong student founders with relevant resources where it fits.
